Anti Snap Locks

Approximately 11 years ago over in West Yorkshire, there was a number of burglary attempts using a method of attacking the lock called lock snapping. At that time our British Standard euro cylinder locks were designed to withstand picking, drilling, bumping attacks but not lock snapping.

So began the design and manufacture of anti snap locks and over the years the designs have changed and so have the ways of easily identifying which are anti-snap locks. So the only locks now in the UK that are specifically designed to withstand a snapping attack are 3 star euro cylinder locks (you can see one on the picture above with 3 stars on the face of the lock) and of these 3 star diamond grade is the highest security grading.

Although some locks are described as anti snap or snap resistant or may have sacrificial edges on the lock please note that its only 3 Star euro cylinder locks that we call anti snap and its only 3 star diamond grade locks that we will fit when asked for anti snap locks.
